These are NOT telephone poles.
They are utility poles. The telephone co. is usually the lowest line.
Dh is an electrical engineer so I learned early on the proper term.
I'll have to find out the official name for this alley set up.
Pretty sure those cylinders on the platform are transformers.

I have never seen poles like these. Where/when were these photos taken?
These were in an alley in south central Kansas behind the business district.
I bet your downtown alley has some. You haven't been instructed on what you're looking at. I've had 28 years of looking at utility poles.
After graduation he went into power with his degree. He has worked for investor owned utilities & municipal utilities. So far no rural utility though.
