This is what a Kansas forest looks like. The large oak type tree on the left was here 14 years ago when we moved in. It is FINALLY looking like a tree versus a bush. We planted the pines & other trees.

A dying protest ...

The grave of a Union veteran in the Attica, Kansas cemetery makes a lasting political statement:

"Through this inscription I wish to enter my dying protest

against what is called the Democratic Party.

I have watched it closely since the days of Jackson

and know that all the misfortunes of our Nation

have come to it through the so-called party -

therefore beware of this party of treason."
