Sew Much Comfort

Watched a KSN , Channel 3 segment last week on this group. It gave me goosebumps & I listen when that happens.

Sew Much Comfort, founded in 2004, is the only organization that provides specially designed adaptive clothing free of charge to military hospitals.

Hospital gowns were not designed to be worn for extended periods of time.

Cut open underwear, pants or shirts at the seams.
Sew in velcro. Easy access to real clothes enables hospital gown wear a thing of the past.

A mother of an ill son retrofitted his clothes this way. He then decided, during a visit to wounded military personnel, they needed these clothes too.

Can't sew or you are like me and can't find the power pedal to your machine either,
how about monetary donations via paypal ?

Able to donate clothing ?

Basketball shorts are in great demand. Large, X-Large
Boxers: cotton, cotton/poly, cotton knit, or flannel. Medium, Large, X-Large
T-Shirts: purchase only heavy weight cotton.
No undershirt type, as they are not sturdy enough.
Large, X-Large
Polo shirts are a good choice. Large, X-Large

Large quantities must be approved before shipping.

All clothing and fabric must be new and current design.

A volunteer packet will be mailed if
interested in putting your sewing skills to work to benefit wounded service members. They will send you an information sewing packet with all the materials and instructions need to get started. You will be required to complete an item of clothing according to the instructions in the packet and return it to the Regional Director assigned to you for a quality check.

Distribution points the Ambassador volunteers deliver the clothing to:

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC

Bethesda Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD

Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews AFB, MD

Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX

Balboa Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA
